Philosophy
One day, a long time ago the following question surfaced: Which is the greatest day of all? The day the French Revolution broke out? The day the first atomic bomb was dropped? The day the newspaper headlines reported tragedies and sensational crimes? After discussing and thinking for a long time the members came up with an answer, which surprised many: They chose the day when people experienced and spread pleasure and joy, when they had time to feel free and happy, to relax and to start a new beginning, a time for love. When is that day? one of the members asked. The question remained without a response - until someone had the ingenious idea, that day is TODAY! And it will always return to earth, when there are people who decide to live for the moment and to derive from it.
CARPE DIEM- a place for people, living day by day, who realize the chances of the moment and who live it!

Carpe Diem is probably the shortest and most popular motto of life as a gift and as a new start, as a continuous new - beginning with the roman poet, Horacius, who was the first to command - seize the day; however, this short suggestion can also be seen as an invitation for what we nowadays call "lifestyle". Quintus Horatius Flaccus (born 65 BC, died 8 AC) always viewed his freedom of thought and action as something important. What set him apart from his contemporaries was above all his superior, fun-filled life style. His way of communicating always had a strong personal note to it. The Horacius- lifestyle is closest to the life philosophy of Epicurus. The ultimate goal of an Epicurus- follower is to lead a comfortable and enjoyable life. He firmly believes he is entitled to a carefree, enjoyable life in his own private sphere, far from everyday troubles. This clearly does not mean an unbridled hunt for excess. Moderation, self-control and composure are needed to avoid the painful consequences of errors and actions´ one regrets having committed - it does not mean living every day as if it’s the last, it means living with one day at a time! The ultimate goal for him is simple and short: in other words, go for fun and avoid the bad vibes.
